Mission Statement:

The purpose of Cool Dreams, a Kennesaw based Alaska Non-Profit Corporation , is, as stated in our corporate charter, “to promote the travel and visitation of youth groups between the states of Alaska and Georgia, to experience the treasures of each state, such as the Alaska’s Iditarod Sled Dog Race and Georgia’s Jekyll Island Wildlife area. The purpose of these visits is to allow youth to experience and learn more about topics such as animal husbandry and the care and feeding of the Alaska Sled Dog and its participation in the International Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race and through the efforts of the corporation to field a sled dog team as necessary to allow the aforstated experience, as well as to learn more about the preservation of Georgia’s coast and the wildlife habitats of both states.

Further to educate school age children throughout the Southeast on the sport of sled dog racing, including the humanitarian treatment of the animals used in arctic life, and the history and culture of Native Alaskans through a variety of community programs and services. Further to collect, compile and share knowledge of care and training for the canine sports athlete with veterinarians, mushers, researchers and the young enthusiasts of sled dog sports. The board shall promote participation in the International Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race and oversee the educational visits to schools and other forums.

Further to educate school age children in the state of Alaska on the culture, history, and traditions of the South and on the natural plants and wildlife of the Appalachian Mountain system and Atlantic Sea Coast through a variety of community programs and services.”
